When I say "we", of course I mean the "royal we" as in all of us Game of Thrones fans who have been building anticipation now for two weeks awaiting the conclusion of Tyrion's trial...and really just another GoT episode in which to sink our teeth. So what might we see this week after such a long wait? Will our patience be rewarded? I expect so.
I want to preface this by saying that I have not read the novels at all.
Trial by Combat
Okay this one's a no-brainer. It's the one thing we feel pretty certain is going to happen in this episode and it's about time. This trial's been carrying on for weeks and I think we are all waiting to see The Mountain meet his match...or not. We believe that Oberyn Martell will emerge victorious...or Tyrion will find another way out of his predicament. In a series that kills anyone at anytime, we believe that Tyrion's character is too strong to succumb to death just yet.
Seriously. Where are the f$%&*ng dragons already? It's been forever since they made an appearance...and why is Khalessi just hanging out in the East? Doesn't she have a throne to retake and blood to shed? Anyway, let's see some dragons again just to remind us that they exist and assure us that they aren't doing time in boarding school.
Will Little Finger kill Robin?
I actually have been saying for weeks that Little Finger was trying to marry Sansa and become Lord of the Veil and it seems like that's where things are headed, but won't he have to kill Robin to get all the way there? He's already masterminded Joffrey's assassination so I suppose killing another child wouldn't really be a stretch.
Arya removes a name from her list
This may be a stretch given how much of Arya and The Hound we've seen in recent episodes, but it's been a while since she crossed someone off her list (I don't count the last episode's casualty) and we always love seeing her get a little vengeance.
Bold Prediction: Sansa Stark will cry
Out on a limb here I know, but I was trying to remember the last episode where Sansa Stark wasn't in tears at some point and I quickly realized I can't. I'd have to go back and watch them all again to be sure, but I would wager there are none or very few episodes that feature Sansa where she isn't crying at one point or another. She did it to herself though the moment she lied about the Direwolf attack and turned on her own sister.
Stannis and Davos ride again
Where are these two? What are they doing, together or separately?
Wishful Thinking: Cersei or Tywin is assasinated!
I think the heading says it all here. It's incredibly wishful thinking and probably won't happen this week, but it would be great to see either one of these two foul beasts go down...although it's unlikely to happen anytime soon.
Did we miss something you expect to see this week? Let us know in the comments.
